Dunrobin Castle

Dunrobin Castle

Dunrobin Castle is the most northerly of Scotland’s great houses and the largest in the Northern Highlands with 189 rooms.

The Castle, which resembles a French château with its towering conical spires, has seen the architectural influences of Sir Charles Barry, and Scotland’s own Sir Robert Lorimer.

We say :Like something out of a fairy tale, tours available of the inside, beautiful gardens, lovely cafe

Carn Liath Broch

Visit a uniquely Scottish monument. Carn Liath is a broch, a sophisticated type of Iron Age settlement accompanied by the rare survival of an associated village and earthworks.

Even in its ruined state, Carn Liath shows the ingenuity of Scotland’s Iron Age farmers and the sophistication of their architecture in designing an impressive and well-defended settlement.

We say: Just outside of Golspie,  A great ruin for exploring
