Balloan Cottage

Balloan Cottage combines fresh and contemporary touches with a solid and very real sense of the past, creating an authentic yet up-to-date property to relax and unwind in.

Balloan Cottage is a traditional, detached Highland house, set in its own grounds with gardens to the front and rear. There are three large en-suite bedrooms, a sitting room, a fully equipped family dining kitchen. There is WiFi. Each bedroom is set up as super king but can be split to make twins. Perfect for two to six people and pet friendly. There is plenty of space for cars. Only a short stroll from the centre of Dornoch.

Balloan House forms part of a traditional Highland farmhouse with its own private entrance, sitting room, fully equipped family dining kitchen and small utility space. There is WiFi. Each en-suite bedroom is set up as super king but can be split to make twins. Perfect for two to four people, although we can accommodate up to six at times. There is plenty of space for cars. Only a short stroll from the centre of Dornoch.

Balloan steading east and west

Two self contained houses, East and West each sleeping up to eight which can be booked separately or together and opened up to form one huge house.

Balloan Steading offers extremely flexible accommodation and is pet friendly. Two self contained houses, each with four en suite bedrooms, which can be opened up to make one large house sleeping up to sixteen. Each house has its own open plan sitting /kitchen/ dining area, and great big dining tables for large get-togethers. Fantastic views over the Dornoch Firth, wood burning stoves, with a pool table and/or air hockey table. We also have electric car charging points and parking for eight cars. Pet friendly.

Definitely be back

A great place to stay. Very cosy with everything you need. The host with the most, Vicki, could not have done more for us and was amazing before and during our stay. We will definitely be back at the end of the year!

A fantastic stay

The accommodation at Balloan House is wonderful and the setting is lovely. The house is well equipped and the beds are super comfortable. A fantastic stay in a lovely area.

fabulous weekend

My wife, kids and I have stayed in quite a few self catering places In UK and Ire over the years and Balloan Cottage is hands down the best. Beautiful building, really nicely furnished, luxurious bedrooms and a 10 minute walk into a beautiful town. Can’t praise it highly enough!
